ESPN ranks prep football prospects
With the help of Scouts Inc., ESPN unvieled its top 150 college football prospects from the class of 2008.
One New Mexico kid appeared on the list, no surprise ...
No. 34: Artesia quarterback Landry Jones, who has verbally committed to Oklahoma.
Scouts Inc. keeps tabs on college prospects far beyond the top 150. At this point the only other New Mexican in the database is Cibola QB Jon Mader. His score: 40. Jones' score is 83. It doesn't mean Scouts Inc. sees Jones as that much better. The company sees Mader as a Division I prospect, but hasn't evaluated him yet. He should have a different score later in the year.
Also later in the year, he and Jones should be joined by other in-state prospects. There were 28 last year, though not all signed with D-I schools.
