Senior Thoughts
By Rachel Prout

Being a senior at Bosque School and getting ready to graduate makes me think about all the amazing experiences I have had there.

When I think back on everything I have learned during my seven years at Bosque, I know how much I am going to take with me. I am going to take all the knowledge, experiences and great friends that I have acquired over the years. I will never forget sitting in Mr. Michaud's ancient history class hearing his crazy African stories, while still learning so much. Or translating that crazy Catullus with Mr. Roth, or discussing my senior thesis with Mr. Key.

One thing that I know I will never forget is the experience of winterim, a week vacation with teachers and a group of my classmates, my friends. It gives us the opportunity to go many different places and experience many new and interesting things while still learning.

I know I will always have memories: running track at Olympia in Greece, seeing what it's really like to be in New York with Jinni and just getting to be with the people I know and have fun.

One thing I know I am going to miss when I graduate is the closeness of Bosque. The teachers are always there when you need them, whether it deals with school or you just want to talk. I will miss having the funny conversations with Fitzy, or hearing Roybal's high school stories, but I know I am taking them with me. Besides being close with the teachers you become close with your classmates. I don't mean you just become close with your grade; I mean that you become close with everyone no matter what grade.

In fact, some of my best friends are in the grades below me, and I don't know what I would do without them.

One thing I had never experienced before Bosque was having the entire high school take a day off of class just to come watch the varsity girls' soccer team play in the state championship. Just looking into the stands and seeing boys with "GO BOSQUE" painted on them, or seeing everyone cheering for us was just amazing. Needless to say, we had so many comments on how supportive our fans were; they were even on the news. I know this experience will stay with me forever.

Thinking about graduation makes me think about all the experiences I have had with my senior class. Joking around in advanced biology with Mr. Daly, staying up all night setting up a prank and always finding a way to make Ms. O'Shea laugh. My senior class is filled with amazing people and if it had not been for Bosque, I never would have gotten to know and become friends with them all. When you look at our class, you don't just see cliques, you see one big group of classmates or friends.

Sure, at times we have our little arguments, but what class doesn't? What matters is that in the end, we are all friends, and that we are always there for each other.

Bosque has given me so many great memories and experiences that I know I will cherish forever. The knowledge I have acquired will stay with me, and I know it has prepared me for the next step in my journey. I know the friends I have made will always be a part of me. No matter if they are younger, or far away. I know I will always have the memories. I am very thankful that I have gotten the chance to go to such a great school and learn so much. I don't think I would be who I am today if it was not for this school, the amazing teachers and my friends. When I graduate and go off to college, I won't be saying goodbye to Bosque because it will always be a part of me.
