Business licenses are gone for a reason
Business Editor Bill Brewer explains:
The Knox County Clerk's office has informed us that it will no longer send business licenses electronically as we have been getting them for the past few years. George Stooksbury of the Clerk's office said the business licenses are available to the public in hard copy through his office but there is no longer anyone to format them in an electronic file and send them to us.They do use computers at the county, right?
He said the county's information technology office is working to post the licenses online, which should be available July 1. If they are posted on the Clerk's Web site, we will access them that way for use on knoxvillebiz.com and in the Business section. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are trying to resolve the issue, but this is a situation beyond our control.
