Drying out
A windy day is in the forecast for Tuesday. The pressure gradient is tightening and a storm is approaching. Often, at this time of year, storm systems pass by with no rain, just a lot of wind. This looks to be the case in the storm that is approaching. With the wind and warmer weather the ground will be drying out. We see some chances for rain, but perhaps not for another 7 or 10 days.

Little Andy,
We are making a graphic right now showing the "odd" winter. 6.8" in November and then 6.5" the rest of winter. I am so ready for a new pattern.

related to the comments on the snow this winter, do you think that is a trend for winters to be less snowy around here.. or are we in a cycle of a few seasons well away from normal snows, then a few seasons above normal? (maybe, hopefully, sometime please?)
Glenn,
I really don't think it is a trend or cycle. Let's see what happens next winter, but I believe that every year is unique and this year's pattern just wasn't a good snow producer for our part of the country.
