Frustrating morning

A band of thunderstorms moved through north of Kansas City early today. Then a complex of thunderstorms formed as it went by to our east. I watered my lawn as this was happening, so maybe it will rain tomorrow (Thursday).

Speaking of Thursday.....Thunderstorms will likely develop to our north and west by sunrise and then drift this way. There is a very good chance we will see rain. The biggest question is how much? I will address these things tonight on the 5, 6, and 10 PM newscast. Below is the forecast rainfall over the next two days. As you can see, just southwest of us almost no rain falls.

I got an email this morning stating that there was a possibility of tornadoes somewhere in the region today. I was wondering where in there region there was the possibility? We live in the Kearney area. I have not yet prepared for tornado season.. I see that I need to now. How big is the chance for possible tonadoes? Thank you so much for keeping all of us informed. You guys are great and the only news channel in Kansas City that I trust.

Danielle,

There is a chance of tornadoes, but most likely just heavy rain and some hail. At this moment there is nothing.

I was watching this morning's news and Brett Anthony discussed our chances of severe weather this afternoon and evening. He mentioned the possiblility of strong winds and hail. I was curious if that was all that was expected from these storms or if the atmosphere would be unstable enough for tornadic activity?

My dad is traveling home from Grand Island, Nebraska this evening and was curious if it was mean for hazardous driving conditions. Thank you!

Severe weather is likely around 6 PM. But, so far nothing.
