Two storm systems
Two storm systems are heading our way. You may hear some weather enthusiasts call a thunderstorm a storm. It is in some respects, but I still call them thunderstorms because of the "storm" that is heading our way. The storm may produce thunderstorms.
Storm #1 will move across the region Thursday, with stronger storm #2 moving across Friday. Rain and thunderstorms will be likely with both storm systems, but how much rain will fall. I am expecting average rainfall amounts of one inch. It is too cool for tornadoes, but there may be some hail. More later.....

Gary,
We love reading your blog. Write more about your dogs. Can you give me a call if it is really going to rain, i am trying to plan around it for my softball game.
Joe,
Thanks for the message. It is going to rain, more likely on Friday than Thursday.
Windy is now 15 1/2 years old and still feeling great. But she is old. Stormy is 4, and she is coming with me to a public appearance tomorrow at Town Pavillion.

Hey Gary,
I'm taking my boys on a canoe trip this weekend down the Niangua. We put in around Bennett Springs. We'll be setting up camp on Friday night and be on the water on Sat. What's the forecast over there for Fri, Sat and Sun?
Granny,
The weekend looks dry, but if you are leaving Friday it looks rather wet.

Hi Guys:
I have two ( 2 ) questions. First, One day while driving in a storm I saw my first RED
bolt of lightning. Is this normal? What does it mean?
Second, I was wondering why we (here in Pleasanton,Ks) cant get weather doppler info. Seems we are to far South for you and too far North from Channel 7's weather. HELP if you can.
I really love your weather forcasts. They are the ONLY ones that seem to be accurate.
Thanks
Thank you! The red lightning likely occurred at some distance away from you and it appeared red as it had some pollution particles between the bolt and you.

Gary,
Great job on the weather forecasts! Keep it up and say hello to Jeff for me.
Thanks,
Edi
EDI,
Thank you. I said hello to Jeff. For those who don't know Jeff Penner, he is our weather producer. He is a great guy and Edi happens to be his girlfriend. Jeff is also a pretty cool guy, and his best quality is his weather abilities. He is a GREAT weather forecaster.

Hi Gary, I saw Windy on a Animal Planet when she was 9 yrs old. What kind of dog is she? Plus I am traveling to Kansas City what is the weather supposed to be like?
Mia

Windy was a Keshond/Shepard mix and almost 17 years old.
The weather will be cool for the first half of next week. Have a great trip.
