Weekend Rain again!
This weekend we are expecting three rounds of rain and thunderstorms. Late Friday night and Saturday Morning should be round 1. Round 2 should arrive early Sunday. Round 3 arrives Monday morning. Below is the forecast total rainfall for all of the events. I am expecting 1 to 2 inches across the KC Metro area. There could be over 8 inches of rain, especially over southern Kansas.

Thank you for all of the positive response from our coverage of this week's severe weather. We work hard, and will continue to strive for excellence!

Gary,
Do you think that Tropical Storm Arlene will have any indirect influence on our weather later this weekend? Does such a storm act as a road block causing the weather pattern to slow down or does the jet stream pick it up an have its way with it? Just curious. You are the best!
Brian,
Tropical systems can and often do have an affect on our weather situation. Arlene can create an area of sinking air on its periphery. This could lower our widespread heavy rain event, however, only for a short period of time. We have so much low level humidity that I doubt it affects us longer than 12 hours.

I can say as a weather "geek" for thirty plus years your video capture this week of the Kansas tornando was one of the most visually stunning ones I have ever seen.
