Still the Chance...

As we go through the evening hours, a warm front is lifting through the area. This will keep us with the chance of a few spotty showers or thunderstorms yet this evening. Here is the 5pm surface map, showing the front:

And here is a look at the spotty activity on Live Triple Action Doppler as of 5:50pm:

AND as we go through the day Monday... a COLD FRONT will be moving through. That will keep us with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through Monday afternoon. Here is the NAM's take on it:

And right now... Tuesday looks nice... dry, sunny and warm!

Tropical Depression 18 has become Tropical Storm Rita this evening:

You can see, it is forecasted to track, as a hurricane, into the Gulf of Mexico. Our very active tropics continue...

Late last week was awesome with the fall-like weather...when will it really be fall-like again...for good?

Thanks!
Anne

ANNE:
A cold front will move into the area tomorrow, holding temperatures in the 80s. Friday looks like a cloudy and cooler day, with highs in the 60s... very fall-like weather!! :) The trend of lower temperatures will continue for the next seven days, with highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees!
Enjoy!

With Hurricane Rita's projected path taking it through central Texas and up through Oklahoma and Kansas, what does that mean for our precipitation next week?

DWIGHT:
The latest model data shows Rita slowing down and hanging out over Texas for a few days. This scenario would bring rain and flooding problems to that area. By next Tuesday, some of the moisture from what is left of Rita will be drawn northward, as a cold front moves into the central plains. This will increase our rain chances. It is still a LONG way off... and things can change... so stay tuned for further updates!
