Snow for some...

TODAY'S NUMBERS:
HIGH: 29
LOW: 10

In last night's blog entry... I talked about a little wave that would move by this evening. That is happening right now! We can see it on LIVE TRIPLE ACTION DOPPLER:

This will bring a brief period of snow to communities north of Kansas City. We may see a few flurries or light snow here in the Metro... but the real accumulations look closer to the Iowa/Missouri boarder. There, they could see an inch or so. Around St. Joseph... the amounts decrease to about a quarter of an inch or a dusting. A quick-moving light precip event!

Behind this wave, colder air is spilling south. Northwest winds are howling, too. Parts of Nebraska have seen wind gusts up to 45 mph today! Our winds will pick up overnight... you might hear that... but the windy period will be brief. What you'll really notice are the colder temperatures. Tomorrow morning, we'll start off near 10 degrees, and afternoon highs will struggle to get to 20!! Now that is cold!

We're still watching the Wednesday/Thursday storm. It acutally looked like it might snow here on last night's data... but today, it is looking less likely. We'll see.

Have a good night!

Hello:

Your pix reminded me of "Lab and Lab Lite"!!! So cute. On the weather front, not much going on, but wind and freezer-like temps - that's what northwest flow gives you in winter!!! It will be interesting to see what the next cycle of Gary's will be, but I am beginning to think a chilly winter won't be out of the question - cold, chilly and dry and (this dates me) perhaps a shadow of 1977 - of course global warming adds its uncertainty to the mix (I believe in global warming btw).

On the dog front, I have an educational story from today:

Jo Anne (my wife) and I went down to City Market to buy some shoulder of lamb, sliced, from the Middle-Eastern market their, and we brought our purchases home and put them on the table. I didn't think about putting it in the fridge right away, and we went out to dinner. When we came back, Sheba, our Shepherd mix was coming thru the doggie-door with a nice, fresh lamb chop in her mouth and all traces of thirty dollars of fresh lamb had vanished...out into the yard, buried by our industrious dogs, Sheba and Parker.

Morale: Never leave lamb chops out where canids can smell and reach them - they can stretch a long way to reach the prize!!!

Cheers,
A lambless Dog

DOG:
That is a funny story about the lamb! I bet it wasn't funny to you at first... but hopefully you can laugh about it now! :)

Do your dogs like the snow? Today when I let Mags outside... she didn't know what to do! The snow is higher than she is... poor thing!
