Tracking Snow
Good morning, everyone!
Hope your day is off to a good start! I am feeling a little under the weather today... I guess there is a little bug going around, and I just happened to catch it! Boo!
We're starting off mostly sunny, and I think we'll see more sunshine today than we saw yesterday. This morning, our low temperatures dipped to the middle-20s... and this afternoon, our highs will climb into the upper 30s.
But I know that's not what many of you care about! You want to know if it's going to SNOW, right?! :)
Well, as of right now... it looks like it will... with light accumulations around the Metro. The NAM has the highest snowfall amounts, which would be upwards of 3":

We are going with 1" to 3" at this point. Parts of Kansas may see even more, as you can see on the map above.
Gary will have an update this afternoon or evening!

Hi Jamie,
Thought this morning you sounded like you had this stuff. Me too, I woke up with it Tuesday, so now day 4. Manageable but ever so annoying!
I figure 7 days and then back to normal. What I don't need to do is scoop 3" of snow on Sunday morning :)
RON:
Thanks for your kind comments. I felt the worst on Friday. I feel much better now, although I am more clogged up! Pretty annoying, for SURE! :) Hope you feel better, too!

Get well Soon Jamie. It is always a bummer to catch a cold anytime but, not here at this time of year. If we get back into the 50's again maybe as soon as Next Thursday or Maybe next weekend, I think everyone might get a cold. Should not be as much snow this time around. Maybe 3 to 5 in parts of the metro to maybe 5 to 7 from Emporia to Paola to Butler. we will see. Still watching to see how far North an Ice Storm will occur this winter. That will set up my Northern Boundry for my Tornado tracking this upcoming spring. Get Well Kiddo.

DeSoto Kansas.
STEVE:
For some reason I always get a little cold right before the holidays! Lousy timing!! I think they work me too hard during this time of the year :)
Let us know how much snow you get out in DeSoto.
Thanks,
Jamie

Do you think there will be any travel problems around the area from the snow this weekend?
TD,
We may end up with some slick roads Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

Sorry you are feeling under the weather Jamie, hope you feel better soon! My kids, Matthew (10), Zachary (9) and Nicole (4) want to know if we will get 4-6 inches of snow like we saw on another forecast. We know that Gary's forecast is the most accurate so we came here to check! We have promised to take them to Lowe's hill in Olathe the next snow so they want to know if they will get their chance this weekend! We will watch at 10PM tonight and see. Thanks!!
HI, LISA!
Thanks for you thoughtful words... you are sweet! I am feeling a bit better today... I think I am past the worst of it :)
As for our snowfall amounts... If you are in Olathe, you can expect 2-3" of snowfall through Sunday morning. I don't know if that is enough to sled... it's been too long! :) And the chance of a white Christmas is slowly slipping away, as we could be near 60 degrees by the end of the week!!
