New York Snowfall Pictures
Hello, bloggers!
A friend of mine in New York City just sent me some pictures of the snow there. I thought you would all be interested in seeing them... pretty amazing!
First, this is the satellite image from the weekend... do you see the "eye" type feature? Kind of looks like a hurricane, doesn't it?

Imagine having to shovel this sidewalk... no thanks!!

That is a CAR burried under all that snow:

A shot of the driveway:

Pretty crazy, with the record snowfall there. 26.9 inches in Central Park... in less than 24 hours... that is unbelieveable!!
Have a good day!

Speaking of snow, do you think we will receive any more this season?
Bill,
There is a chance early next week. But, it is very suspect at this moment.

Hello Gary,
I see you have some chances of snow in the forecast, are we gonna start getting alot of snow now, I see some of the other forecast have chances wed, thurs, fri, sat, and mon, and are we gonna have a ice storm thursday, just wondering your take on it, because I think your the best weather man in the whole world, thanks for your time
Anna
Anna,
The storm is likely going to our north Thursday, but we can hope it shifts south. Then, there is some chance of a storm on Monday of next week. This is very strange.

Gary,
Was just wondering the NYC snowstorm was around 27 inches and that was there record snowstorm, I was just wondering what is our biggest snowstorm in kc history, also the pictures that were posted from the nyc snowstorm could you please explain why there was an eye in the storm like a hurricane.
Thanks keep up the good work
Our biggest storm was March 23rd-24th 1912. Kansas City had 25 inches.
Thanks Jeremy. It will happen again someday.
Oh, I forgot. It is very unusual to see that "eye" feature on satellite. I need to analyze further, but it was a powerful storm.

There will be kids in New York who will build the igloo of their dreams. We had one of these storms in my home town when I was 10, and I still remember having igloos standing in April in 60-degree weather.
Jo,
We had two big snowstorms in January and February of 1993. And, my neighbors kids built the igloo's. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 15 years.

gary and the team, would like to see your thoughts on the icing potentional up here in north mo for wed night and thursday? I've looked at some of the data and the GFS and NAM both keep the 0c line very close to me throughout the event.. it looks like iowa is going to get clobbered with snow though.
Glen,
There is a chance of some icing. Let's see how it sets up tomorrow. It may not precipitate much, but it could still be a problem.

It's so beautiful! Grant it, I've never had to deal with the down side of snow, seeing as how I've only seen about 2 inches 3 times in my life, but it's absolutely fabulous-looking. I wanna throw myself into a huge fluffy snow dune.

Melissa,
You may double the amount of snow you've seen in your life by the time Tuesday rolls around. We will continue to update the forecast on the blog along with WxPlus & NBC Action News!
