Our next wave of rain/thunderstorms
Good afternoon everyone,
The upper low that was over the southwest is now ejecting out and holding together enough to bring us a nice band of rain. A few thunderstorms are also possible between 4 PM and 9 PM tonight. We are anticipating 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch rainfall amounts as this band moves through later today.
Jamie will have a list of rainfall totals later this evening. Please let her know your storm totals later on so she can include your location.
So, this storm isn't over yet. Have a great day.
Gary

Gary/Jamie - .91" Blue Springs Hwy 40 and Cemetary Rd area through 1646 - no rain since then. Hoped for a lot more, but will take what we can get. Noted that Topeka area received a lot and southern Missouri a lot according to radar rainfall estimates - us in the middle.

Wow what a nice rain we have going moderate rain at bonner springs,ks at 945pm just a question is this rain going to get rid of our drought and also is the next weather maker going to give us some good rain next week.
JEREMY:
Glad you are enjoying the rain! It should continue through the night. It will definitely be good for the dry conditions we have been seeing... the drought monitor is issued Thursday... so it will be interesting to see how good we do. There is another chance of rain by the middle of the week, although not as much as we've seen this weekend.

Hi - According to my wife, perhaps another half inch at least to 2140 - total so far 1.41" 40 hwy and Cemetary Rd, B.S. - welcome to say the least - if one looks at storm totals via radar, you can see a vast arc of 3-5 inch amounts from Topeka to Chanute to Springfield, interesting the wedge over KC even tho it has rained well, the heaviest, up til now, has encirled KC - wonder why?
Still, nice to have the rain, even if all around us scored more inches.
Cheers,
Dog
DOG:
Thanks for the report. It looks like most places have seen over an inch!

Good Evening Jamie/Gary,
We here in Leawood have been experiencing moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall for the last two hours..good soaking rains. This storm seems to have formed in bands..and yes indeed..KC got it bands after all. Good job Gary on reminding folks to be patient..when all is said and done..1 - 3 " of rain generally { could be more tomorrow if we get some sun and heating and some instabilty with the wrap around low moving east }

ROBERT:
Yes, it's a slow mover... so we expected several rounds of rain. Looks like Gary did good on his promise of 1 inch or more for everyone! :)
