We are in the developing zone
Good evening everyone! We are in the developing zone between the cold front and warm front. Thunderstorms are rapidly developing. They are moving northeast. We could end up with widespread 1 to 2 inch rainfall amounts during the next 7 hours. But, who will get the most. I will blog about this in a few minutes. Watch my weathercast in 10 minutes. This is exciting.

So - I live by the Johnson County Executive Airport. It seems like weather from the Gardner area is going to come our way and there seems to be a front to the south south west of the region that could come our way..... Now I just moved from Oregon and am wondering if this "April" weather is common for KC? Last night (April 23rd) my BBQ Grill was tossed around my yard and was destroyed....can I expect this for all summer?
Gary,
This does happen in the spring, but you shouldn't experience damage every year. The winds aloft weaken by June 15th to 20th and the summertime thunderstorms are rarely as severe as in the spring.

Hey do you think there is still going to be significant severe weather or not and if so what time and where. How much rain could Appleton CIty expect. Thanks
DANIEL,

Hi all - here we go again, unless something magical changes things from 2050 CDT, as the Dog writes this...
Far south in Oklahoma, a tornado was reported to be on the ground, west of Randelett, hugging the Oklahoma-Texas border, and moving into extreme parts of Texas along the Red River just a county east of Wichita Falls.
Radar at 2048 CDT showed that the cells southwest of us had fizzled, and frankly, it didn’t look like much was going to occur tonight. I should be able to move my over-spacious yard tomorrow…oh joy…More of the same Duffill syndrome - should have moved to New Mexico, where at least one doesn't get teased like this...oh well, can't move, at least until the stocks come in.

It is 858 right now and the rain has stopped here in Olathe. Its this all the heavy rain that we are going to get tonight?
MATT,
THERE IS STILL HOPE FOR MORE RAIN.
