APRIL STATISTICS
Good morning. Did you know that it rained 8 of the last 9 days of April. Hopefully this storm, in the end, left us with a good feeling. It was a nice soaking. Wow! Here are the April Stats:
Highest Temperature: 92 degrees on the 13th
Lowest Temperature: 34 degrees on the 8th
Total Rainfall: 4.15" (Average is 3.38")
Average Temperature: 62.1 (7.7 degrees above average)
In summary, it was dry for the first 2/3's of the month and then the weather pattern suddenly started producing rain.
Our next chance of rain arrives Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. More on this later today.

We had 3.2 inches of rain in Garnett over the week-end. I would like for you too cover the middle to lower part of Ks. better. Kansas City is suppose to be the weather channel too listen too, but if it isn't servere weather we are all too often not talked about. Thank you for your good job otherwise. We enjoy the news on this channel. Sincerely , Georgia and Larry Penn
GEORGIA AND LARRY,
I HAVE PAID CLOSER ATTENTION TO YOUR AREA LATELY. BUT, THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER AND THANKS FOR THE RAINFALL REPORT. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU COULD USE A COUPLE OF DRY DAYS.

It's been a little quiet around here lately, as far as severe weather goes that is. The rain was nice and my lawn is very thankful. Just wondering if you see any chances for some good ol' Missouri severe weather in the near future? Or maybe even close to Missouri for that matter.
Rod,
Usually severe weather season begins around now. We have already had a full season in March and April. So, if you are a severe weather fan, then get ready. We will have some significant severe weather before the season closes down around the middle of June.

Is this a real wet trend setting up?
JUSTIN,
WE ARE JUST CYCLING THROUGH THE SAME PATTERN THAT SET UP WAY BACK IN THE EARLY FALL. SO EXPECT THE UPS, DOWNS, AND DRY SPELLS, BUT NOW STORM SYSTEMS THAT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH MOISTURE TO WORK WITH DURING THE WINTER NOW HAVE THE AVAILABILITY OF GULF AIR. SO, THIS IS WHY ALL ALONG I THOUGHT WE WOULD CATCH UP ON OUR RAINFALL. IT ISN'T NECESSARILY A VERY WET PATTERN, BUT WE SHOULD HAVE AVERAGE TO PERHAPS A BIT ABOVE AVERAGE RAINFALL DURING THE NEXT 45 DAYS.

Gary,Jamie,
Nice soaking rains this weekend, Tomahawk creek is running well and the Blue Gills are biting on the local ponds. I see a little disturbance in central Kansas this morning..any chances?? and how's the set up for severe Tuesday Night..? mid 80's sounds warm enough.
Robert
ROBERT,
WE HAD A FEW SHOWERS AS THAT DISTURBANCE MOVED BY THIS AFTERNOON. THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER LOOKS SMALL, BUT LET'S SEE HOW IT SETS UP.

Only 1.7 inches rain at my house in Grain Valley, Mo. over the weekend. On the low side compared to other rainful amounts, but I'm happy and especially my lawn and flowers!
Still strange has to how our area always seems to be on the short end?
JEFF,
MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU WILL GET THE MOST, BUT AT LEAST IT WAS THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF RAIN.

With the average temperature for the month being over 7 degrees above average does this make it one of the warmest April's ever? Hopefully May will be cooler and wetter than average.
