Night Out Pictures
Tonight the people at the Bonefish Grill had "media night"... and some of us from the station went out to try the new restaurant. There is one North of the river, near I-29 and North 64th... and the one we went to tonight, in Leawood on 135th. VERY good food, and a fun time, too!
Here are some pictures from the event:

This is a picture of our group... on the left: Debbie Bush (our news director), Gary, and me. On the right: Jeff Penner, his wife (and new momma) Edi... and then my husband Ken in the back.

This is us with one of the nice people that work there, Freddy. The service was great!

Right as we were finishing... this cutie came over and asked for Gary's autograph. He was so sweet!

And what would an event be, without the doggies. This is Stormy and Breezy... I don't know why I ended up holding the heavier dog! ;)
Hope you enjoy them!

Gary,
Is this cool down part of your weather pattern? If it is, is it later then you thought it would be? You think that at the end of the 15 days (that would be middle to end of May) we should warm up and get stormy...does that mean we are going to miss out on a stormy May? Is it possible that our severe weather came in March and April, and we will get little if any the rest of the season? Do you expect any more major outbreaks over the next few months?
I do hope it gets a little warmer!
Brian
Brian,
It is possible, but I did some analysis and this all fits within the pattern and cycle. The jet stream has weakened and as a result there is no flow into the southwest as we had the last time the pattern went through this part of the cycle. We should still come out of this dry spell with some severe weather set ups, but in about two weeks or so.

Jamie,
Great pics. I love it when you guys put up pictures of stuff you do. It really makes it feel like you guys care about your viewers and stuff. You guys seem like a close knit group. Is Gary married? He seems like such a great guy it's hard to see him being single. Anyway, so is the severe weather already over for the year or are we just taking a break? Thanks
Ryan
RYAN:
Thanks for your comments! We had a great time last night, and really do enjoy each other's company! We are going into a quiet period weatherwise, where we are not expecting any severe weather for at least 10 days or so. Things could get stormy again after that!

I am chanting quietly for some rogue microwaves to foul up the quiet time. I am being robbed of my May! Curse the Great Lakes and their Lows, and curse the uncooperative jetstream! Boo to NW winds! I want my SW negatively tilted 500 mb troughs/shortwaves! [Stomps his foot]

Okay, I know I am asking for way to much, but how do you think the 26th thru Memorial Day will be dry? We are going camping.
Keri,
We will be due for some rain by then. But, it is too early to tell.

I agree with one of the above comments about loving the way you truly care about your viewers/bloggers by taking time out of your busy days to post pics of your activities. We love this kind of thing. I now have to check everyday for new "stuff". I'm a much more informed weather "conversation filler" now when approached with the public during the day. Thanks!!
Everyone I've met and dealt with at your station is so great and down to earth...LOVE IT! Kudos to you all.
Mary
MARY:
You are too kind. We are glad the blog keeps you informed and entertained! :) Thank you so much for watching!
