Soooo Spotty

TODAY'S NUMBERS:
HIGH: 82
LOW: 60

Today's thunderstorm activity has been extremely spotty across the area. Most of the thunderstorms developed once we reached peak heating to the east and south of the Metro. There is another area of thunderstorms now coming into the St. Joseph and Trenton areas... this is ahead of our upper wave. You can see it on the late afternoon ESP image:

We will have to watch those thunderstorms to the north. I think the chances of them reaching the Metro are maybe 30%. For those of you to the north, expect scattered showers through the evening hours.

As for Monday... there is still the chance of some spotty thunderstorms EAST of KC... although the chance is only about 30%. Nevertheless, watch out in Trenton, Chillicothe, Sedalia, etc. The rest of us will see a pretty nice day! Partly cloudy and cooler, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s! Besides thunderstorms, this is actually my favorite weather! :)

As promised, here are some pictures from my trip to Florida. Like I said earlier, we didn't do much "Florida" stuff (ie, no beach)... mainly because of the baby, but also because of TS Alberto!

First, this is little Bella... my best friend's newborn:

When I went down there, she was just 4 weeks old! It was amazing to see how your life changes with kids. I came back and was able to swap baby stories with Jeff Penner! :) Here I am with Bella... she is wearing an outfit with our high school logo on it... too cute:

And this is my friend's dog, Micky... she is also a lab:

Micky has lots of energy.... I would LOVE to get her together with Mags... I know they would have so much fun running each other ragged! ;) And speaking of the Magsters... here she is last week:

I love it when she hangs her head out the window:

Her ears and cheeks flap in the wind... it is priceless!
Have a good day!

Thanks for sharing the pictures-I especially love the car picture! I'm not a mom yet, but I am a proud mom/owner of a black lab mix and I think his serious look (ears perked, etc.) is priceless too!

STEPHANIE:
Awww... I would love to see your lab! Send a picture if you get a chance. jarosik@nbcactionnews.com
Thanks, and have a great night!

Jamie - Looks a lot like Parker - he must be mostly Lab, tho he is a mix, I think.

Back to the dry looks like.

Both Mags and your friend's baby are beautiful! It's obvious from the pictures that Mags is a happy dog and you take good care of her; she's got such a beautiful, shiny coat! I have a basset hound and agree the facial expressions are the best. Especially the pathetic, nobody loves me so give me treats, look!

HP:
Thank you so much! Bella is such a good baby, too... they are very lucky! And we are lucky with Mags! She really has a way of melting your heart with just one look. One of my favorite looks of hers is when she has something that she thinks I want. She lowers her head and gives this devilish "just-try-to-take-it" stare!

Weather Team:

Weather Plus is AWSOME! I discovered I could get it Friday evening after some information on your web site. What I like about it is the fact I can get weather information anytime and it is LOCAL. The break ins are very professional and informative.

How often do you folks update the break ins? My guuess is only every few hours. Still, they are very helpful. Do you have somebody on 24 7?

I hope you keep this service for the years to come!

I see that there is an stream on the weather plus web site, but is there local stuff on that stream?

Later,
Brian

BRIAN:
We're glad you found Weather Plus! We update it seveal times a day. Usually, Brett will do it 3 times in the morning... and then we'll do it another 3 times in the afternoon/evening... just depending on how much the weather is changing. If there is significant weather, we would likely do it more often, or even do live cut-ins during a severe situation. I believe we will have our own Weather Plus streaming on our website in the near future.

Hi Jamie - Well, the east coast around D.C. is getting the rain - a foot or more of rain!!! WHEN WILL IT BE OUR TURN? Not this year, but really, is KC NOT capable of getting generous rains anymore? Is this a long-term trend, or what? Shall we grow cactus in our gardens from now on?

On a happier note, I mowed the lawn to even out the scraggly look, but I look forward to several weeks before I have to mow again.

Dog - My dogs are so exhausted from lying around all day and just being, paws extended everywhere - I'm comin' back as one of my dogs next time.

DOG:
I know, isn't it amazing in the Northeast?? It fits the weather pattern theory... as they also had flooding back in October and I think again in April. Your dogs are exhaused from lying around all day? I *wish* that would happen to Mags, too! :) I would like to have a little of her carefree-ness... I love the way she just doesn't care if she is dirty.

Congrats to your friend with their baby, we have an 18 month old boy and a little girl coming in November.

It's raining here in Shawnee and the sun is shining VERY bright, crazy day!

Also, I have to ask, what is behind the nickname "Snack"?

Thanks,

roogie

ROOGIE:
Thanks for your nice comments, and congrats to your family as well!

So how did you know my nickname? Tell me, and I will fill you in on how it came about! :)
