Here Comes the Heat

Good morning!

I do not have much to add to Gary's blog from last night... as nothing has changed. Today we should be in the upper 90s, close to 100 for a high. Heat index values will be in the range of 105 degrees, though... so be careful in the heat!

And we are only going UP from here. Expect highs in the lower 100s Sunday through Tuesday. Overnight lows won't bring much relief, either... dropping only into the 80s. I would think the NWS will put us in a heat watch/warning before long...

It figures... my in-laws are coming to visit us Monday & Tuesday... just in time for the heat wave! ;) If anyone has any COOL ideas of things we can do with them around town... feel free to share!

Our son and daughter in law are coming Sunday evening, too. Please share any cool ideas for things to do this week. Also, do you know how many days 90 and over we had last summer/year?

DEBBIE:
I will post some of the ideas that come in! :) Last year we had about 43 days above 90 degrees through June, July and August. Most of those days were in the lower to mid 90s, but we did have a hot stretch during August that had us close to 100 degrees several times.
Have fun with your family!

Union Station, Crown Center, Toy and Minature museum, Nelson Art Gallery are a few things that come to mind that I do with my kids on a hot summer day! Stay cool!

HEY, DEA!
Thanks for the good ideas! I like the Union Station idea... and maybe we will go to one of the museums, too.

Have you tried Google Earth with NWS Nexrad and warnings. You can zoom down to street level and see houses! Really neat!

Thanks for sharing!

You should take your in laws to that brewery across from Kelly's Irish Pub. Their whole family are well known alcoholics so after they drink too much you can take 'em across the street to have their stomach's pumped by a drunk med student. Keep it all in the drunken family that way. I'll give the lasers a rest for now. Apparently you geniuses are too busy making lowsy forcasts. So, I'm gonna build them lasers on my farm and mess with your forcasts until you decide to get on board. This may seem harsh but that is the nature of our competitive society.

Just Kidding,

Your Friend,
William
