Goodbye!
TODAY'S NUMBERS:
HIGH: 79
LOW: 40
What a day today!! Do you believe how warm it was? Amazing. We should be into the 70s again Monday... although I don't think it will be AS warm as today... because some clouds will be moving in as the day goes on. We'll stick with our forecast high of 73 or so. A COLD FRONT will come through Monday night, and it brings a slight (and I mean slight) chance of a few spotty showers. Then HALLOWEEN looks much colder. Highs near 50... and TRICK-OR-TREAT temperatures ranging from 40 to 45 degrees with a Northwest wind!
Well... as you may know... today is my last day at KSHB! We are moving back to my hometown in Ohio tomorrow! It was an extremely tough decision to leave... as I really love KSHB and Kansas City. But to quote my favorite movie, "There's no place like home..." :) I will be working at the NBC station in Dayton, Ohio... tune in if you're ever passing through!
Anyway, I want to thank everyone for the nice comments you have been sending me the past several days. It is wonderful-- the relationships we have all built on the blog! As I have said, I will continue to post here... only under the "comments" section, like all of you! Look for me there, and let's have some fun this winter tracking the GRC!! :)
I wanted to leave you with some pictures of Mags that we took today. It was soooo nice outside... she LOVES this kind of weather! It was really funny when we took her out, she just lay down, right in the leaves and looked up at the bright blue sky. When I told her it was time to go back in, she rolled over on her back and just lay there... legs sticking right up in the air... as if she was saying, "I'm in heaven... don't make me go in YET!"

Thank you again, for everything!
Jamie

Jamie - Good pix of Mags - sure looks like Parker! Jo Anne had a package of Fig Newtons on the counter shoved way back the other night, and when I happened to come into the living room, there was an empty wrapper and container - he'd reached up on the counter, all the way back to the wall, and snagged and scarfed her Fig Newtons down his never-satisfied gullet, probably in less than 5 seconds. Caninus Omnivorous.
Have a safe trip.
Dog
DOG:
That just made me laugh really hard... thanks. :)
I have seen Mags eat like that before! She is really a short dog, so she isn't able to see that high up... but WATCH OUT if the food is in sight!!

Jamie - Just finished the 18Z GFS - still suggesting Nov 11th period as quite interesting, and now Nov 6th is showing up with a closed low forming over Missouri, followed by a large, deep trough over the western U.S. for an extended period of southwest flow over Missouri. Very, very interesting. This all transitions from WNW flow on or about Day 5-6 into what could/should be a potentially very-unsettled period thereafter. I know the GFSs' extended portion may be fantasy, but still, as I said last night, it nailed the last big system on the head, position and almost timewise, so we can hope!!! The fact that consistency is occuring again as happened in the last big systems' occurrence is not a bad sign. We shall see, as always.
Cheers,
Dog
DOG:
I do like what I am seeing on the latest GFS run. Interesting, indeed.

You really made Gary's Weather Team complete!
You always have such a great way of presenting the weather, and we enjoyed watching the weathercast while you were in KC. Although we hate to see you leave, we wish you the best of luck!

Jamie,
Best Wishes in your new job in Ohio, it sounds like it is the right move for you! Of course us here in KC are on the short end of the stick, but we'll make it through.
We expect your station to be the #1 weatherrate ranked site soon after your arrival!
Good luck,
Tim in GW
TIM:
Haha! I don't think any of the Dayton TV stations even KNOW about Weatherrate! I will have to work on that... :)
Thanks for everything... I'll be in touch!

Jamie-Best of luck to you at your new job in Dayton. I have really enjoyed your weather segments the past few years as you always tell it like it is, in a very clear and easy to follow mannor. Being a meteorologist myself, you really do a great job under the bright lights and in front of the camera with very little time! Again good luck and have a safe trip. Bill Barlow
BILL:
Thank you so much, that really means a lot!

Good luck in Ohio. Remember to root for those Buckeyes on their way to a National championship.

Paul,
I think Jamie will be rooting for the Buckeyes. I will be rooting for anything but a Big 10 school.
