| Welcome to winter... »
Here comes the cold!
The first of two weekend cold fronts is about to enter the viewing area. As of 5pm it is just northwest of St. Joe. The first front will drop temps into the 30s for Saturday, and then a second reinforcing shot of cold air arrives for Sunday.
I'll blog again this evening with thoughts on the REALLY cold air mass that might pay a visit the first week of February. I think this would give people 'sticker shock' when they see their heating bills at the end of February!
Alright...if you missed the 5pm show I briefly showed ocean-effect clouds just off the northeast coast. You can view these by checking out the infrared picture of the NE. A good satellite website is:

We'll talk more later...

Jeremy, I really enjoy it when you blog. You are just as informative as Gary and show alot of enthusiam. I love that you include web links to help those of us not as astute in meteorology to learn. I hope even when he gets back from Vegas you continue with this on the blog. I am bearing in mind, you have a newborn to take up some time :)

Jen,
Weather is an easy topic to talk about and also a fun one! So I like blogging to keep everyone informed. I'll try to pass along a few web links from time to time. When the next storm rolls around I'll go over the websites I posted a couple of days ago.

Hi Jeremy. So it looks pretty cold in about one week. The other weather sources are either staying away from that possibility or they have been flip flopping more than a politician on their long range forecasts. Is there a possibility of a major storm. It would fit the LRC but again two sources state that they see no more snow storms for the rest of Feb. Interesting, Huh? Anyway keep up the good work. Only three weeks till spring training! Mike,
The first week of Feb. look VERY COLD! If we had snow on the ground this would produce highs in the teens for a few days. Without much snow we may in teens to 20s for highs. Obviously this is a week away, but considering what the LRC is calling for along with the models showing a cold snap...we keep thinking this is a high chance of a cold stretch. Overall February looks very interesting. A very cold start and the possibility of some storms the first couple of weeks. Are we guaranteed snow...no...but it looks good.
It won't feel like spring training:)
