A Little Snow!
A few pockets of light snow and flurries are moving across the region this morning. I don't expect any accumulation, but if KCI sees even flurries, this will be the first time that it has EVER snowed on April 6 in Kansas City. Winter lovers enjoy...and make sure to look outside quick...this won't last long! Check out LIVE ESP & NBC Action News all morning long for updates!
We'll have another blog update later this morning.

I think I missed the flurry action:( but man this is incredible cold air, the temp in St. Joe is still falling, my digital thermometer is dropping to 26 even with cloud cover!!
I'm wondering if we won't get some low clouds before we clear out because the Omaha radar site is showing echos in north to south streaks near the radar site moving from north to south, I figure that this would indicate moisture at low levels that would only show up when it is really close to the radar, hence low clouds.
Nick in (Breezy/COLD) St. Joe!!!!

Nick,
The cold is incredible! Most if not all of the snow was south of St. Joe this morning. LIVE ESP continues to show areas of snow...and maybe even some steady snow in Bates county Missouri. Expect record lows both Saturday and Sunday morning.
In regards to cloud cover...expect clearing from north to south by late morning and into the afternoon.

Cold is right! I was driving in to work about 7:15am this morning, and couldn't believe it was flurring! It is cloudy now in Lees Summit, is it supposed to remain cold through the weekend??

Kathy,
Sun will return to the area from north to south today. It will remain cold this weekend with highs in the 30s and 40s and nighttime lows very likely setting records in the teens and 20s.

I keep wanting to e-mail and say MAKE IT ALL GO AWAY!!!!!!!!! I know you can't, but this is the first time I REALLY wish you guys had the power to create not just predict the weather. You guys are doing a great job (at least I was forewarned weeks ago) but I wish you had been wrong this time. Okay, enough whining...I'll get over it.

Sheree,
I would rather have days like this past Monday when it was sunny and 82. But I guess we have to take the good with the bad. This is VERY unusual for April to be this cold for this long.

I can't believe my heater is back on and my folks sit in Phoenix debating whether they want to turn the air on this early . The weather, replete with high pollen counts and then the influx of audden cold, has kept me extremely busy in the emergency room with respiratory patients. This morning I caught up with the blog and like Scott's (Supercell Scott LOL) about a learning series, although Scott and Bill provide alot of info on here, it is fun to learn from the best!

Jeri,
I think I would rather have to decide between the AC than turning on the heat. Last Tuesday night I had the air on before going to bed and then woke up to fill-in for Brett at 1:30am freezing and turned the heat on before heading out the door. The temp swings this week have been crazy. 82 Monday and teens by this weekend for lows!

We had snow in Bonner for about 15 minutes around 9:20. Came down pretty hard there for a while. I am tired of this. I want the warm air back. :)

Keri,
Thanks for the snow report. I wish it was warm too!

Adam,
Temps will fall into the 20s during the game and it will be windy! Sounds like a Chiefs game!

YEAH!!! Snow in April. Only flurries and not enough to fill my cravings for a big April storm (15 inches minimum), but it's nice to see. Sitting through 38 degrees at the K wasn't that bad, but then I called my friend back in New England and he told me it had been snowing all day. I wish he would send some.

Matt,
It could be worse as you pointed out. Just look what happened 2 hours SW of here yesterday...accumulating snow.

My grandson Izaak would like to know if Gary Lezak would do a school weather assembly at Broken Arrow Elementary School in Lawrence, Kansas. What do we need to do to make this happen? Izaak would like for Gary to bring his dogs Stormy and Breezy.

Wendell,
It may be possible, but all public appearance requests must be sent to Amanda Broyles.
