Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen is expected to play today for the first time in spring training. He will probably play just a couple innings to ease his way into the lineup. It's been a far different without the All-Star third baseman last year for the Cardinals, but his return could add to an already explosive lineup.
The Cardinals' roster is about as set as anyone's this spring, though there are a couple spots open still. In just 12 spring training at-bats, Scott Spiezio has almost double (5) the amount of hits he had all of last year (3). It appears as if he's a much different player than last year and has a renewed vigor for the game. Having a chance to compete for a winner in St. Louis couldn't hurt.
