Rep. Mahoney asks Sen. Martinez for help

In a statement from Jerusalem Wednesday, Rep. Tim Mahoney asked Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., to use his position as Chairman of the Republican Party to convince Bush not to veto a bill that holds $1.3 billion in funding for the Indian River Lagoon.
"The residents of the Treasure Coast and I ask Sen. Martinez, as the General Chairman of the Republican National Committee, to urge the President not to veto this vital legislation.
Mahoney said he would work on overriding the veto, if the President follows through on his threat.
