More Martinez on Petraeus and Iraq war

Even as his colleagues criticize Gen. David Petraeus and his assessment of the Iraq war, Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., said Tuesday he found the general's testimony to be "very encouraging."
"I think he's been very persuasive and I think he's demonstrated the progress that has been made as well as some encouraging news on the ground."
Asked if the war would make it difficult for Republicans to run for relection in 2008, Martinez said, "I don't think so... particularly when there are signs of progress."
