AT&T is advising customers who will not be shopping for an iPhone to come in before the release of Apple's much-hyped Internet-enabled mobile phone is released on Friday.

The multi-function instrument will released upon the public at 6 p.m. Friday. To prepare, AT&T stores will temporarily close their doors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

A message on the company's phone mail system states that "Customers may experience extended wait times when visiting or calling our stores on the 29th and throughout that weekend."

The phones will also be available at Apple Stores. The Apple Store at the Palm Beach Gardens Mall will be closed from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in advance of the iPhone sale.

The iPhone includes a camera phone, a multimedia player, mobile phone, and Internet services like e-mail, text messaging, web browsing, Visual Voicemail and wireless connectivity.

Cost is $499 for the 4 gigabytes model, $599 for the 8 gigabytes model. That doesn't include the monthly pricing plans that range from $59.99 for 450 minutes to $99.99 for 1,350 minutes.
