If you were thinking of seeking a last minute furniture bargain from Modernage Furniture, time is up as the going out of business sale in Vero Beach and Stuart has come to an end.
The chain's Stuart store on U.S. 1 was empty Monday, following a weekend auction of rugs and other items.
The Atlanta-based Leath Furniture, Modernage’s parent company, announced in April the need for the liquidation sale. Trade magazines have claimed the closing is a ripple effect of the housing slowdown.
No announcements have been made on who will move into the sizable local showroom spaces.
