Our media partner at WSTU 1450 AM has noted some possible sale tax shenanigans.
Tom Teter, who co-hosts the morning news with Steven Mehlman, noted he was charged 28 cents when buying batteries this weekend at a Bravo station in Port St. Lucie. That's supposed to be a no-no during the hurricane sales tax holiday. However, this is the only case of taxing what was supposed to be tax-free during the June 1-12 period we've heard of on the Treasure Coast this year.
