Tell us your telemarketing stories

[ Go Back ]

It's been four years, as of today, since consumers were allowed to have their names added to the Do Not Call list.

Has it been a success for you? We want to know.

Telemarketers were supposed to be prohibited from calling those on the list.

Most would say the law has been a success. The Sun-Sentinel reports a Harris Interactive poll found that 92 percent of those who put their names on the list reported a reduction in telemarketing calls.

However, that hasn't always been the case. The Federal Trade Commission received more than 1.1 million complaints last year. And the Florida Department of Consumer Services this week filed suit against Travel Partners USA, a South Florida company, for allegedly violating the law at least 15 times since January 2006.
