Barnes & Noble coming to Stuart

[ Go Back ]

The Stuart Towne Center, a proposed upscale lifestyle center by Montgomery, Ala.-based The Trotman Company, has its first announced store.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), announced this morning it has signed a lease to open in the still unapproved outdoor shopping venue that would encompass approximately 25 acres along U.S. 1, from about Dominica Terrace to Gran Parkway south of Indian Street.

The store, which will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and offer yet another Starbucks coffee location for the Treasure Coast, will open in August 2008, according to the Barnes & Noble press release. The company already has a store in Jensen Beach.

Trotman officials have said Stuart Towne Center will compare more to Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens and The Avenue in Viera - with shops such as Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Ann Taylor Loft and Dillard's - than what can be found in the enclosed Treasure Coast Square in Jensen Beach.
