Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Port St. Lucie, is expected to discuss the state's property tax reform Wednesday with a panel that includes Port St. Lucie Mayor Pat Christensen and St. Lucie County Commission Chairman Crist Craft.
Harrell and company will talk during the regular monthly meeting of the Commercial Society of the Research Coast at Sam Snead's Tavern, 8540 N.W. Commerce Centre Drive, Port St. Lucie.
Local governments have expressed concerns about the reform that is forcing major budget trimming. Harrell recently told the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce the tax reforms approved by the Legislature will help Florida businesses turn a better profit.
The event, from 4-6 p.m., is free.
