St. Lucie County, for years the fastest growing part of the Treasure Coast, again topped the region and was eighth in the state for foreclosures in June, according to California-based RealtyTrac.
RealtyTrac, which publishes a national database of pre-foreclosure and foreclosure properties, reported 290 foreclosures last month in St. Lucie County, or one for every 315 homes.
Martin County had 66 foreclosures filed, one for every 992 homes. Indian River County was reported to have 113 foreclosures filed, one per 512 homes.
Miami-Dade County topped the state with one foreclosure reported for every 167 homes, with 5,110 foreclosures filed.
Local Realtors often question the RealtyTrac figures. The St. Lucie County Clerk of the Court reported paperwork on 334 foreclosures were filed last month.
