Vernon 38, Altus 8 ALTUS, Okla. - Five different Vernon Lions found the end zone Friday night as they rolled to a 38-8 victory over Oklahoman rival Altus. Craig Whiteside scored the Lions' first touchdown and finished with a team-high 145 yards on 13 carries. Kyle Echols (73 yards), Darien Williams, Ray Daniels and Deonte Martin also notched rushing touchdowns. The Lions totaled 240 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Lions held Altus to negative yards rushing and forced three turnovers. Chris McGrew had 12 tackles and four sacks to lead the unit.
