Argyle 49, Bowie 21

ARGYLE, Texas - J.J. Harp led the charge for the Argyle Eagles Friday night with three touchdowns contributing to the 49-21 rout over the Bowie Jackrabbits in the District 8-3A opener.

Harp had a 16-yard run in the first quarter and two touchdown passes. Argyle finished with 110 rushing yards and 320 passing yards on 20 completions with only one interception.

Bowie moved the ball on the ground with 224 yards rushing and through the air with 122 yards passing, but they were called on 10 penalties for 80 yards.

Josh Mowery had two late touchdown runs in the fourth quarter on runs of 40 and 35 yards, but it was too little too late for the Jackrabbits who fall to 1-5 for the season and 0-1 in district.

Argyle improves to 5-1 for the season.
