FORT WORTH - Boswell went 78 yards on the first snap of the game Friday night as Daniel Harrist found Paul Jacobs open on the fly route.

That turned out to be more like the nightmare start for the Coyotes, rather than the one they were hoping for after a 42-7 whipping by the Pioneers a year ago.

But the Coyotes hung in there with a balanced offense, bend-but-don't-break defense and two timely fourth-quarter interceptions by JaQua Charleston.

Charleston returned his first interception 47 yards for the go-ahead touchdown as the Coyotes outlasted Boswell, 43-32, at Pioneer Stadium.

Charleston's second interception set up an insurance TD by Ryan Robinson, his second 7-yard score of the night, with 1:55 left in the game.

Before Charleston's heroics, it appeared the Pioneers might finally take control of this back-and-forth game. Boswell had the ball and a 32-29 lead with five minutes to play in a game that featured seven lead changes.

Ben Henderson of WFHS overcame three interceptions to pass for 250 yards, completing 20 of 35 passes. Joseph Cherry had his biggest game of the year with three catches for 53 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown.

And big-play receiver Isaiah Anderson got into the act late with a 60-yard catch and run to give the Coyotes a 26-22 lead early in the fourth quarter. That sparked a 21-point fourth by WFHS.
Anderson finished with four catches for 92 yards. Riley Mason added five catches for 45 yards, including a touchdown. And Robison had his second straight 100-yard rushing game with 114 yards on 22 carries.

"They're a good football team and well-coached and they play real hard," WFHS coach Travis Pride said. "They gave us some problems offensively."

Boswell quarterback Daniel Harrist completed 20 of 35 passes for 343 yards and four touchdowns.

After the opening play, the Coyotes recovered to take a 14-13 halftime lead.

"I wasn't too worried then, because I thought our offense would move the ball," Pride said. "We shined in spurts offensively, but we need to be more consistent."

The Coyotes converted their first two trips into the red zone into touchdowns. Henderson hit Riley Mason for a 24-yard score and Robison scored on a 7-yard run, both TDs in the first quarter.

After not scoring in the first four games of the year, Mason has found the end zone in back-to-back weeks. He had a nice catch on a post route and held tightly onto the ball in traffic against Boswell.

The Coyotes had some up-and-down moments on specials teams with a partially blocked punt by Armonty Bryant, officially going as a 5-yarder that Matt Contreras returned to the Boswell 21-yard line. That set up Robison's 7-yard TD run to give WFHS the lead.

WFHS also had a fake punt around midfield stuffed and Eric Young hit the upright on a 45-yard field-goal attempt in the final seconds of the first half.
