Seymour's Haden Holub ran for four touchdowns including two in the fourth quarter that sealed a 29-13 victory over the Valley View Eagles at Memorial Stadium Friday night.

The senior signal caller rushed for 227 yards including 158 in the second half. His 12-yard score with six minutes left broke open a close game and a 56-yard scamper with just over a minute left secured the win for the Panthers (8-3).

Holub's first touchdown of the final quarter came with the Panthers holding on to a slim two-point lead over a pesky Valley View squad.

"It was a great win over a great team and Seymour's first playoff win since 1999," head coach David Fambrough said.

With the win the Panthers advance to the third round of the playoffs against an opponent yet to be determined. The Eagles end their season with a record of 11-2.

Seymour got on the board first scoring on their third play from scrimmage when Holub raced down the sideline 53 yards eluding several Eagle defenders. After a failed extra point Seymour led 6-0.

The Panthers failed to take advantage of a Valley View fumble, but got on the board the next time when Callen Coltharp booted a 22-yard field goal to make it 9-0.

Valley View cut the lead to 9-7 midway through the second quarter when Eagle quarterback Tyler Noland found Taylor Boaz in the end zone on fourth-and-goal from the 5. It was the second time that they had converted on fourth down on their best drive of the half.

A muffed punt set up the Panthers next score as Seymour took over at the Eagle 41 and once again Ross Peters and Holub did most of the damage, The Panthers methodical drive culminated with Holub cashing in from the 1- yard line on a quarterback sneak with 45 seconds left in the third to make it 15-7.

A Seymour turnover allowed Valley View to close the gap to 15-13. Dustyn Whetzel scooped up a Holub fumble and ran 30 yards for the score. The Seymour defense stuffed Noland on the extra point attempt and preserved the lead.

After Holub's first score of the fourth the Eagles drove to Panther 11-yard line but four straight incomplete passes ended any chance of a Valley View comeback.

Peters added 80 yards on 11 carries for Seymour.
