Vernon 27, Iowa Park 13 VERNON - Vernon clinched sole possession of District 6-3A Friday night with a 27-13 victory over Iowa Park, its fifth victory in a row. The Lions (9-1, 4-0) will play Perryton in the Class 3A bi-district round next Saturday at a place and time to be determined. Kyle Echols scored two touchdowns and Craig Whiteside had 98 of Vernon’s 250 rushing yards in the win. Troy Williams and J.C. Pleva had rushing touchdowns for IP, which ends its season at 4-6. The coaches should really be ashamed of themselves. They had a lot of good talent on the Hawk team and wasted it on the side lines. You shouldn't try and make one player the star, they should have played the boys as a team instead of seperating them and pulling them apart. I don't blame the boys efforts, they should have went to playoffs, I hold the coaching staff responsible for this season of heartache the boys had to endure. Of all the coaches Ellis and Robinson should be looking for jobs else where. They should be ashamed to even show their face in town.
