Rider going to state

April 10, 2007

I'm happy for Carl Wiersema. The Rider girls soccer coach has done a good job for a lot of years. He's won hundreds of games, but the Lady Raiders never could get all the way to state.

But that all changed last Friday night. I told Carl this week that I missed the chance to see that after seeing several of the near misses. I wrote several season obits for Wiersema's teams.
But I'll be there in Round Rock on Thursday when the Rider girls make their first state appearence. It probably won't be their last trip there.
