Defense? Yep, that's what it's called

The Dallas Mavericks played maybe the best defensive playoff half of this decade in holding Tony Parker and the Spurs to 30 points in the opening half of Game 3.
They forced jump shots, hit the boards and blocked shots at the rim. DIrk stopped Duncan at times. Dampier closed down the lane many times and didn't they to injure anyone. As if there was any doubt.

Rider girls versus Friendswood (2nd Half)

Katy Catney started second half in place of Brasier. Rider has the win. Early chance for Brooke Deason, couldn't quite get the shot away.
A. Hall created great chance for Friendwwood, but McGee couldn't finish the header. Rider nearly fell behind there.
Off a free kick by Hackbusch, Barnhart goes through a defender for a header and hits it just over the cross bar. 32 minutes left.

31:10 left, Annalisa Hall breaks up the shutout with a nice run down the left side and beats Stewart from 8 yards out. 1-0 Friendswood.
Almost immediately, Hall strikes again from 29 yards out, with a blast that Stewart couldn't touch into the right corner of the net.

Rider cuts the lead in half as Megan Barnhart gets free for a shot and Chelsea Wright cleans up the rebound.

Friendsgood gets the put-away goal with 9:40 left as Delaina McGee beat Hackbusch and Stewart for a goal. Rider had to press forward to try and knot the match and the back was left open.

Deason makes it a match again with a 25-yard blast past the keeper.
Rider again will push up to try and knot the match.

Game over 3-2 Friendswood.

Rider girls versus Friendswood (1st Half)



The Rider girls have been introduced at Georgetown's ISD Complex as they get ready to start their semifinal game.
Kaly Braiser, who has battled a back injury, is announced with the starters.
An early good chance for Rider, one minute in, as Taylor Moehnke passed to Michelle Castelli, who got off the shot, but it was stopped by Friendswood keeper Miriam Mooney.
Rider has a slight possession advantage in first 10 minutes.
Rider has four fouls plus a handball which is given the Lady Mustangs a chance to set up an attack. Thus far, Kathleen Stewart has been up to the task with some help from Maddie Holmes.
Friendswood took advantage of the wind and had more shots, although most came from 20 yards out or further.
0-0 at the half.
