« Class 4A poll | Main | District 5-3A very balanced »

5-4A divide

October 6, 2009

After watching Lake Dallas on Friday night, I would rank the Falcons a little behind both Ryan and Guyer.
After hearing about the Wildcats' sloppy play vs. Rider, I'm not quite as sure that I'd pick Guyer over Ryan. The Wildcats will be tested like never before in their secondary and they can't afford those slips they sometimes have when they pull out the double reverse or flea flicker out of their trick bag.
As for QBs, there's not much to dislike among the top three, but I might take James Franklin right now. He has great touch, as does Scotty Young, but I like Franklin's ability to beat teams with his legs, too.
Walsh can certainly do enough to take a team to a state championship, too. For his offense, he's perfect.

As for the rest of the district, T.J. Anderson of the Coyotes is looking better by the week.

State poll ballot: Here is how I voted this week.

4A
1st Place: Lake Travis
2nd Place: Longview
3rd Place: Denton Guyer
4th Place: Waxahachie
5th Place: Denton Ryan
6th Place: Schertz Steele
7th Place: Angleton
8th Place: Dallas Highland Park
9th Place: Big Spring
10th Place: Corpus Christi Calallen
