TEXAS FIGHT !!! Go TEXAS FIGHT !!!

August 2, 2006

Way to go Rhett Bomar. Some other guy named J.D. Quinn was also dismissed.
Their chances of winning anything this year went down the tube. How can anyone win without the incumbent quarterback?
The dismissals come after investigation into part-time jobs they worked, but received more money then they earned.
What were they thinking?
Oh yeah....they were thinking that monthly stipend they get for being a scholarship athlete was a joke.
Just a guess but here's how it went. "Here's your $500 for the month, now have fun sonny boy."
Yes the get free room and board, and meals, besides the free education, how do these guys support themselves?

Red River Shootout: TX-99, OU-2
That's the prediction and I'm sticking too it. Rhett Bomar was the hopes and dreams for the Sooner nation this next couple of football seasons, especially this year.
I bet Sneed and McCoy look pretty good to Stoops right about now.
But here's the bigger concern. Is this an isolated incident?
Now way, no how.
Universities have been throwing money at athletes for years to turn them into million dollar machines.
Go to a BCS bowl...here's an extra $15 million. But where is the players' share.
It's in the envelope at the booster party after the game.
Maurice Clarett is a forgotten footnote, but boy did he cause a stir at Ohio State.
These incidents continue to be a blip on the college football radar, but the keep popping up.
I'll never forget the college football player (I think it was Georgia) that sold some bowl rings on the internet to get a little extra cash.
Players are always getting dismissed, but its not until its a big time player that anyone really notices.
Maybe with Bomar, a Texas-breed product by the way, people will take a look at the cave and stop shaking their heads at the beast.
