Fantasy nightmare
September 2, 2007I slept in for my own fantasy football draft. That's right. I'm the commish, and I woke up about 20 minutes late for my fantasy football draft.
Fantasy football is a big deal to me. Its big across the U.S., but its big to me. Its something that gets my football juices flowing and keeps them that way for the entire year, off season too. I've been playing fantasy football since I was about 13 years old.
I feel terrible, I felt terrible and I will continue to feel terrible. I ended up with some guys I like and some guys I can't really stand.
I wanted to keep my fantasy football participation down to a minimum by not joining 86 different leagues. I wanted this one and this one only.
My bro and a bunch of good friends are playing in the league and I had to have bragging rights for my drafting acumen.
It didn't work out that way. I jumped in late, like 10th round, and my team's destiny had already been chosen for me.
My first mailed in pick was Shaun Alexander. Don't get me wrong, I like they guy but I like other guys a lot more than him.
My second pick is the big stinker of the entire team, Ronnie Brown. I hate the Dolphins. I would rather watch Hirschi play football than watch the Dolphins. One they're and AFC East team and I root for the Pats, and another I'm a Burk grad.
The rest of the team is OK, but I know I could have done better. I was looking forward to yesterday for, like, eight weeks. Oh well, just like Cubs fans say, "there's always next year."
