Nobody "moseys" in NYC

May 23, 2009

My feet are a battlefield -- covered with no less than five huge blisters. I walk to work each day, which takes about 30 minutes, except this walk is not like a casual stroll. It's a full-fledged walking race to each crosswalk, and my feet have rebeled. If I don't walk fast, I'll literally get run over my all of the others walking fast.

This wouldn't be a problem if I'd just cave and become one of those women that wears a suit and then socks and tennis shoes, but that just seems so "Working Girl." Not that I'm stylish, mind you, but I have some cute flats that I prefer instead.

What happened to moseying down the street, enjoying the walk? I guess New Yorkers aren't familiar with that.
