Saks Fifth Avenue
June 29, 2009My office is in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, surrounded on all sides by historic New York City landmarks. I'm just a half block away from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. I'm two blocks from Rockefeller Center. Etc., etc.
Last week, I took a different walk route to work and I found myself in front of another landmark -- the original Saks building. So I said to myself, "I wonder what street I'm on."
(Wait for it. Wait for it. Here it comes . . . .)
Well, duh. I was on Fifth Avenue. Like the name of the store says, it's Saks FIFTH AVENUE.
(For the record, I gave myself a pass on that little momentary oversight. It was morning. I was sleepy. My mind hadn't kicked into high gear yet.)
