« Why I picked Archer City | Main | Nothing really surprised me this weekend »
Week 2 playoff predictions
November 21, 2008I have already laid out my thoughts on the Archer City-Roscoe matchup.
Here are some quick hits on the area's other playoff games:
* Rider vs. Stephenville: Rider is on its third QB, and although the Raiders' defense is stout, aren't the Yellow Jackets due for a win in this playoff series at some point.
* Burkburnett vs. China Spring: This should be a really great game. I am interested in seeing how Burkburnett's defense fares against China Spring's offense. I think the Bulldogs are capable of an upset, but I think they have to play an almost-perfect game to do so. They cannot get off to the kind of start they had after their last bye -- when Bridgeport came out and took the game over. My pick: Burkburnett loses valiantly by seven.
* Vernon vs. Liberty Hill: The two-time defending state champs are averaging 444 rushing yards a game. Vernon's defense has been solid, but the Lions just do not have the firepower to hang around in this one.
* Seymour vs. Stamford: I like the Panthers to pull out a close one this time around. They are playing some pretty quality defense, and the offense scores enough in a tight one.
