Can you sack Zach???
August 22, 2009No, not actually sack me. That would hurt.
I'm not very elusive anyway, and since I've had three knee surguries from sports-related injuries, I'd rather avoid any physical contact.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up on a pick-em high school football contest we're putting on called "Sack Zach." I'll have more concrete details hopefully on Monday, but here's the deal.
Basically, each week I'll choose 8-10 games -- probably all three city teams and the most competitive or hardest-to-choose area games.
Then I'll make my picks and anyone on the website can make theirs. Like I said, the details haven't been worked out yet, but maybe whoever gets the most right each week gets a small prize (most likely a First and TRN T-shirt).
And whoever picks the most right during the entire season will get something worthwhile, I can assure you.
We'll have more of this straightened out soon, but you'll be able to pick the games by the middle of the week and then keep track of how you're doing.
I'll be picking the same games too, so you can chart your progress against mine (hopefully I won't get embarassed by this, but I usually do a decent job picking games).
Also, starting Sunday I'll be giving you my predictions on the major districts -- 5-4A, 5-3A, 5-2A and 9-A -- once every day.
And also tune into NBC's Sports Sunday tomorrow night, where Ricardo and I will be breaking down the high school football season.
